Description: ***South Area*** $10.83 - $11.91 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Indian Harbour Beach. Work schedule includes standby and overtime as required. Performs entry-level service maintenance work in the maintenance, construction and repair of utility mains and facilities. Work involves on-the-job training.
Requirements: No formal training or experience required. High school diploma or GED Preferred. Experience in the repair and maintenance of utilities distribution and collection facilities preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license prior to employment. Must obtain a valid Florida commercial driver's license (Class B or higher) within six months of hire and maintain said license during term of employment. Must be able to pass an asbestos physical for respiratory personal protective equipment to start employment and every two years thereafter. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing respiratory personal protective equipment. Employee will be required to satisfactorily complete all mandatory County training. Job requires planned and unplanned overtime, and standby and call-out duties on a rotational basis. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
